Scouts,

We have an opportunity to take Scouts for COPE training, Challenging Outdoor Personal Experience), on the weekend of May 14-16. We must have a minimum of 8 Scouts and 2 adults to attend, and of course Face Masks will be required per currently COVID guidelines from BSA. If these change, we will update all those that are expressing interest.

Details -

Location - Gus Blass Scout Reservation, Damascus,AR Timing - this is an organized class with specific timing - so camp has to be set up so Scouts can be in first class at 7:30 pm on Friday night. This means that leaving town no later than 5 pm on Friday is really necessary. With traffic, camp is 1.5 hours drive. Traffic is generally the issue. Event ends when every participant has worked the high rope course on Sunday! Can be well after lunch but is generally no later than 1 or 2 pm.

In general, the Scouts will be doing active classes all weekend, so Adults generally manage most of the food cooking - if anyone wants to get adventurous on something. Scouts will break down all of their camp before start of class on Sunday, so leaving can be easier.

Adults can participate as well! All participants have a $25 course fee + food cost, but if you are only camping, the only cost is food related.

Detailed info sheet and forms are attached.

BSA Medical Parts A & B (completed within the last 12 months from date of event) is required, so that is also attached. Let me add, you will need Parts A, B & C for Summer camp so getting a visit scheduled with your MD is recommended!

Adult leaders - Brad Chilcote and Annie Robbins. If others are interested, please let us know.

Need response back from those interested no later than 3/20/2021.
