Tomorrow night we'll talk about session options. I'm attaching info on what's available as well as a chart of when things are available. For those who have not yet earned their First Class rank I would recommend one of the Rocks classes. This will get you swimming MB, first aid MB, and a decent chunk of your rank requirements. For those who already have their First Class I would recommend Swimming MB (if you already have Swimming I'd recommend Lifesaving MB). If you don't have it already I'd recommend First Aid. I'd also suggest possibly starting Camping MB. There's a wide range of other sessions available, those that are STEM related, a few that are art related, ecology, general scoutcraft, aquatics. We'll talk about it all tomorrow night.
To reserve an early bird spot we need a $100 deposit to the council by April 1 with the balance ($175) due by May 3. Once we get them in the system I'll send you a link to pay.

I'm attaching a PDF that describes all of the available sessions. Try to make a list of those your interested in and we'll build a schedule

T59 - COPE trip possible - May 14-16

posted Mar 11, 2021, 11:57 AM by Julian Robbins   [ updated Mar 12, 2021, 9:31 AM ]

Scouts,

We have an opportunity to take Scouts for COPE training, Challenging Outdoor Personal Experience), on the weekend of May 14-16. We must have a minimum of 8 Scouts and 2 adults to attend, and of course Face Masks will be required per currently COVID guidelines from BSA. If these change, we will update all those that are expressing interest.

Details -

Location - Gus Blass Scout Reservation, Damascus,AR Timing - this is an organized class with specific timing - so camp has to be set up so Scouts can be in first class at 7:30 pm on Friday night. This means that leaving town no later than 5 pm on Friday is really necessary. With traffic, camp is 1.5 hours drive. Traffic is generally the issue. Event ends when every participant has worked the high rope course on Sunday! Can be well after lunch but is generally no later than 1 or 2 pm.

In general, the Scouts will be doing active classes all weekend, so Adults generally manage most of the food cooking - if anyone wants to get adventurous on something. Scouts will break down all of their camp before start of class on Sunday, so leaving can be easier.

Adults can participate as well! All participants have a $25 course fee + food cost, but if you are only camping, the only cost is food related.

Detailed info sheet and forms are attached.

BSA Medical Parts A & B (completed within the last 12 months from date of event) is required, so that is also attached. Let me add, you will need Parts A, B & C for Summer camp so getting a visit scheduled with your MD is recommended!

Adult leaders - Brad Chilcote and Annie Robbins. If others are interested, please let us know.

Need response back from those interested no later than 3/20/2021.

Eagle Project for Saitej Mummadi

posted Apr 16, 2019, 10:27 AM by Troop 59   [ updated Apr 23, 2019, 11:31 AM ]

We forgot to post the details for Saitej's Eagle Project, We apologize. Below are the details of his project

Hey Scouts, this is Saitej Mummadi and I’m doing my Eagle Project this weekend at Boyle Park from 10-3pm.

My project is about building an information bulletin board and a bench at the head of a new bike trail that the park is building. This board will be used to allow local residents to post news or upcoming events there and it will also help people to tell them that there is a bike trail here.
It would be much appreciated to get as much help I can get with this project.

The address is:
2000 Boyle Park Rd, Little Rock, AR 72204
There will also be lunch provided. If you want to come please call or text me at 501-218-6223.
Thank You so much and hope to see you there.
