Our trip to Dauphin Island will be an exciting and educational experience for your scout. Dauphin Island is a barrier island on the Gulf Coast of Alabama, just south of Mobile. Parts of the island suffered damage during Hurricane Katrina, but are on the way to recovery.
During this trip we will have a variety of activities. While in Dauphin Island the troop will visit an Estuarium; a national bird sanctuary; fish in the ocean; participate in service projects; attend Sunday church services; bike and work on several merit badges. On the trip to Dauphin Island we will camp at Vicksburg National Military Park in Vicksburg, Mississippi and bike the trail through the park. On the trip back to Little Rock, we will stop and visit the USS Alabama Battleship in Mobile, Alabama.
See the links below to Dauphin Island, our letter to parents and our informational brochure.
